Insert molding is an injection molding process that combines metal or other inserts with molten plastic to create a single integrated part.
Process of Insert Molding
Load Inserts Into The Mold
Operators carefully position the inserts within the mold. This can be done manually or using automated processes.
Injection Molten Plastic
Molten plastic is injected into the mold, surrounding the inserts. The plastic cools and solidifies, permanently bonding with the inserts.
Take Molded Parts Out From the Mold
After cooling, the insert becomes a permanent plastic component.
Benefits to Insert Molding

Cost-effective compared to other methods.

Provides reliable attachment points for inserts.
Enhances overall component strength.
Applications of Insert Molding
Insert molding has been widely used in industries requiring a combination of metal and plastic parts or combination of LSR and plastic. From automotive, electronic, medical to houseware, many complex and high quality parts can be produced through insert molding.
